Before joining Paesano Akkashian, Matt worked as an associate at a large, reputable law firm. There he litigated complex fraud claims with a strong emphasis on factual investigation. Matt attended Wayne State University Law School, and worked as a summer clerk for Judge Nancy Edmunds of the Federal District Court for the Eastern District of Michigan, and previously interned for Judge Annette Berry of Wayne County Circuit Court.
While in law school, Matt served as an Associate Editor on the Wayne State Law Review, took part in the Business and Community Law Clinic as a student attorney, and competed in Wayne State’s Transactional Law Competition. Together, these experiences put him on the path of being a client-focused, solution-driven attorney and counselor.
Outside of the office, Matt is an active member in the Metro Detroit attorney community, serving in leadership roles in the Oakland County Bar Association Business Court and Counsel Committee, and participating in ongoing legal education through the OCBA Inns of Court Program. Matt is also an avid Detroit sports fan, enjoys spending time outdoors, and long walks with his wife and dogs.
